The Sleep Disorders Service investigates and manages a range of disorders including excessive daytime sleepiness, snoring, sleep apnoea, respiratory failure in sleep, insomnia, jet lag and sleep movement disorders.
A comprehensive multi-disciplinary service is provided for the management of snoring and sleep apnoea using CPAP, weight management, upper airway surgery and mandibular advancement splints.
Diagnostic services include:
- Full polysomnography with video facilities
- CPAP pressure determination studies
- Non-invasive ventilation
- Sleep latency/vigilance testing (MSLT / MWT).
Special interests of service members include obesity and sleep apnoea, non-invasive ventilation of respiratory failure in sleep, narcolepsy, shift work, paediatric sleep disorders and the cognitive-behavioural management of insomnia.
