The Department of Sports Medicine provides a comprehensive service for sports people of all levels and disciplines. For the weekend warrior, the weekday slogger or elite athletes, the department’s sports doctors provide the highest level of care to have their clients back in the game as safely and quickly as possible.
The Sports Medicine Department is involved in the diagnosis, assessment and treatment of all musculoskeletal injuries, including workplace and overuse injuries. The Sports Physicians are responsible for the health and fitness of elite teams such as the GWS Giants, Australian Rugby 7’s, Tennis Australia, Australian Women’s Basketball and Australian Water Polo. They also provided care for Australian athletes and staff at the recent 2016 Rio Olympics. They continue to work with local schools and Universities providing a comprehensive sports medicine service.
